Salvia azurea ssp. pitcheri var. grandiflora
Prairie Sage
Sky blue flowers on long racemes bloom August-frost. A
very beautiful treat for the late summer garden. This salvia is clump
forming and becomes somewhat of a small bush. Prune early July for compact
plants otherwise plant it where it can happily spill about. Plants emerge
late spring. Full sun. Height 3' if staked. Spread 1-2'. Native.
