Pulsatilla vulgaris
This plant will quickly become one of your favorites if it isn't already.
Breaking dormancy in early spring it is occasionally caught blooming with snow still on the ground.
The fuzzy foliage and seed heads last well into late spring and are as charming as the flowers.
After the seeds have dropped (for you will want them to seed around) cut the foliage back and
a new flush of pretty leaves will spring forth.
Full-part sun. Height and spread 6-12". Good drainage. Native to the mountains of Europe.
