Solanum quitoense 'Spiney Form'
Naranjilla/Bed of Nails
HUGE 1-2' leaves are a soft green
with purple midribs and purple thorns running along the leaf veins. This
plant will never cease to gain attention. Plants are 3-4' and contrast
beautifully with finer foliage plants. Try with Tibouchina, ornamental
grasses and Strobilanthes for beautiful color and textural contrasts.
Edible fruits are produced in late summer and taste like a little orange.
